While I agree with your &quot;invasion of privacy&quot; feeling, we have to come to terms with the fact the privacy in the 21st century is elusive and mostly an illusion. Emails are the biggest culprit. I would venture to say over 90% of email traffic is sent unencrypted. I would be more worried about that than companies who are least making an attempt, albeit misguided at times, at a semblance of privacy.

Bottom Line: You have to assume anything you communicate over the internet is public. Anything else and your kidding yourself.
